Located in the Diocese of Norwich in Eastern Connecticut, the retreat house sits on a 53-acre wooded hill site two miles from downtown overlooking the beautiful Willimantic Valley. Your hosts, the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate, welcome people of all faiths to the “House on The Hill” for solitude, communal worship, reconciliation and strengthening their relationship to Christ and to one another.
Entirely renovated in 2006, the retreat house has 73 comfortable rooms with individual AC/Heat controls, desk, chair, full or queen size bed and private bath. The facility has wireless internet access and is also handicap accessible.
Immaculata comprises one central building with three wings radiating from it like spokes in a wheel, with the main chapel set in the middle of the hub. The chapel is the heart of the Retreat House and is centered in the middle with no openings to the exterior. The chapel walls rise up almost endlessly from exposed trusses that reach towards the sky and join together as hands in prayer.
We look forward to having you visit our “House on the Hill” for prayer, quiet, relaxation or just a get-away period. We welcome groups or individuals for retreats or days of prayer.
